Abstract
A Korean textile product development institute is looking for manufacturing technology of nonwoven fabric using a new material and a machine that can produce new finished goods using the nonwoven fabric. Together with this institute, a Korean manufacturing SME is planning to commercialize the technology and use it in the R&D institute or sell it to the other companies. Type of cooperation sought is either license agreement and(or) technology cooperation agreement.
Description
A Korean textile R&D institute is looking for a project idea on a machine that produces nonwoven fabric since the government has allocated an R&D budget of around 4M Euros for developing a machine that produces nonwoven fabric. Nonwoven fabric can be used in making the wrapping paper, baby/adult diapers, sanitary napkin, face mask, disposable cover/bag, nonwoven fabric for a hospital(surgical use).
In Korea, a biodegradable film using corn starch is being used for wrapping the products and for manufacturing face mask. However, this material is expensive and has a low production efficiency. In addition to that, when applied on hygiene products, adhesive strength could be weak or printing may not be done well. Therefore, 1) they are looking for a biodegradable nonwoven manufacturing machine that can complement this weak point. 2) Also, they are interested in automatic manufacturing technology of finished product of nonwoven fabric which is disposable nonwoven anti-contamination clothing.
In other words, they are looking for a new innovative technology from abroad that does not exist in Korea and want to introduce it to the market as a made-in-Korea product.
The sought partner is not limited to European companies. Also, any form of company is welcomed for license agreement and(or) technology cooperation agreement.
License agreement refers to receiving license related to producing the machine and also manufacturing technology of finished product using nonwoven fabric. The technology cooperation agreement will be signed if coaching/training is necessary for designing, producing, operating and testing the machine.
Once the technology is received by the R&D institute, they will form a consortium with a Korean SME specialized in machine design and manufacturing and conduct output test.
Roles :
- R&D Institute in Korea: Project manager of the government project. and owns the developed machine. They can produce a product using this machine and sell it. Or can sell the machine through government procurement platform.
- Korean SME: Produce machine after receiving technology
- Overseas firm: Provide technology(technology transfer) and offer coaching/training for design, producing and operating the machine and for setting stable manufacturing condition of the machine
- Machine that produces a new type of nonwoven fabric
- Technology that can develop a machine which produces a new type of finished product using nonwoven fabric
- No specific requirement. It should be about advanced technology related to the nonwoven fabric. Prefers technology that has not been introduced in Korea yet
