Abstract

Spanish technology based company has developed an anti wasp system that has been positively tested but it would be necessary to adapt the technology to a final device according to the different environments in which the velutina appears.The company is looking for partners for adapting and improving the studied technology and for stepping beyond the prototyping phase and to place the product into the market under a manufacturing, technical cooperation or commercial agreement.

The Spanish company is a private technological firm which, based on radio frequency and microwave as well as in cryogeny and ultra-high vacuum technologies, performs its activities for large scientific facilities and institutions as well as for private companies and organizations. They are a multi-technology company based on innovation, research and technology development focused on highly innovative and competitive products. The company has the final beneficiaries of its projects and developments at the very centre of its performance.

The company is focused and related with different and at the same time extremely related disciplines like cryogenic, radio frequency and microwave (RF&MW), ultra-high vacuum (UHV), highly precise mechanic, etc. in different sectors like science, telecom, industry, defence, space or health. Their skills include provision of innovative solutions on engineering design, manufacture, verification and test in the fields of particle accelerators, astrophysics, space, defence, industry and health sectors.Because of the characteristics of their activities, competence and equipment they are a highly technological company that provide solutions to the most advanced scientific structures, based on their competitiveness, the application of their innovative knowledge and the determination of their team.

Due to the extreme situation that the honey bee farming is living caused by the continuous increase of the extension gained by the velutina wasp in Europe where it has reached several countries causing a great natural disaster among the local bee communities it is of high and immediate importance to find a solution for the limitation and elimination of this disastrous invading specie. The company has developed and tested a technology based on its core competences. Now a new phase to adapt the new technology for acting in different environments where the velutina’s nest are located is needed as well as to manufacture and commercialize the final version of the device.

Actually the technology has been positively tested but it would be necessary to adapt it to a final device according to the different environments in which the velutina appears. It is not the same to find the velutina’s nest is an urban environment than to find it in a tree in the middle of a thick forest where trees grow close together. The manoeuvre capacity to access the nest actually limits the technology effectiveness. The target is to find the most versatile concept to move the technology close to the nest so as to be able to neutralize the wasp.

The company is looking for a partner interested in complementing this project into the above mentioned processes (manufacture and commercialization) under a manufacturing or a commercial agreement.

They are also also considering the possibility of a technical cooperation in order to further develop of the technology with a technical cooperation agreement.
